夜照亮了夜，身為被害人

2011年10月17日（一）早上，由美國謀殺案受害者家屬人權促進會（Murder Victims’ Families for Human Rights, MVFHR）和台灣廢除死刑推動聯盟在台北共同召開記者會，宣佈2011年「夜照亮了夜：身為被害人」台灣巡迴演講正式啟動（巡迴演講行程請見下面附件一）。

記者會由廢死聯盟執行長林欣怡主持，與會的貴賓包括MVFHR的三位成員，瑞尼‧庫欣、凱特‧洛溫斯坦、風間聰，以及來自日本的被害人團體Ocean的創辦人原田正治（四位的簡介請見下面附件二）。

台灣政府是否真正關心被害人？

當我們談到死刑廢除時，反對者（不只是社會大眾，政府也是）通常會以「被害人」做為理由反對廢除死刑。但真實的狀況卻是，被害者要求嚴懲加害者，但卻不一定要求處以死刑。MVFHR最為人所熟知的口號就是：DON’T KILL IN MY NAME。

The Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA), the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and our member organization the Taiwan Association for Human Rights (TAHR) write to you today to express our grave concern on the resumption of executions under the death penalty in Taiwan. According to national media reports , 10 death row prisoners will be executed after 10 October 2011, the National Day of the Republic of China and ironically, also the World Day against the Death Penalty.
